HELBOURNE

HELBOURNE - AN EXPLODED EXHIBITION OF TEXT AND IMAGE

If it can be argued that art is a reflection of life, why then is visual art so often removed from the public; separated from people by ornate frames, white walls and bored security guards? Helbourne is “an exploded” exhibition that breaks down the walls of the gallery; placing art in the spaces that people frequent in their daily lives.

Driven by a character narrative, Helbourne is a text and image exhibition that tells the story of five people who are thrust together by the unseen currents of coincidence over one winter evening. The story is set within select bars, cafés and retail stores of Melbourne’s CBD and told through site-specific, screen-printed artworks and short stories.
