Interview with Anita Fontaine

Pushing the boundaries of moving image, Anita Fontaine lets us know that feeding the cat can be more than just helping out a friend!
What is your name and where are you located
Anita Fontaine, Boston USA (originally from AU)

Where did you learn your craft?
From an elegant french woman posing as a videogame designer. We drank champagne and I would feed her cats in exchange for divine knowledge.

What is your artistic medium of choice? Why that medium?
Interactive, moving images and little kids stickers from japan. I feel like there are no limitations

Have you always been focused in this particular area?
No. I have come to this through a love affair with fine art.

Were you a fan of Eat Carpet?
Of course! I would stay up late always that night and tape every episode, it was so inspiring.

Whose work do you relate to most? Who inspires you?
Alot of my friends are so inspiring, I have so many muses! One of course is geoff lillemon; we also run a design studio together called champagne valentine. Apart from that I enjoy the work of bjork and Lewis Carrol.

What software do you use to make your magic (mac or pc)?
PC

How restrictive is web when doing animation and 3d?
I never let the internet restrict what I am doing. I like to make the progammer who I’m working with have panic attacks.

David Lynch, Art or Shite?
Right now I live a few blocks from where david lynch used to live when he went to art school. I adore his work very much.

How do you think/want other people to respond to your art?
I want them to buy me champagne.

Can you let us in on any trade secrets?
