What a brilliant idea, and lets hope Ken can raise the 100K for this great cause. On an other note, I wonder what sort of shoes he is wearing? Because of all that walking they would have to be durable and comfortable, hopefully not nikes, so what about some good old desert boots.
Imagine walking 1,300km, then imagine walking 1,300km through the heart of the Australian desert.
Ken McGregor, Art Series Hotel’s Art Advisor, is doing just that to raise money for Dialysis treatment in the Western Desert.
On 1 August, Ken’s month long journey will take him through remote communities from Alice Springs through to Kiwirrkurra. Supporting the plight of the Aboriginal communities in combating diabetes and kidney failure, Ken aims to raise over $100,000. All funds will help cover the operating costs of a mobile Dialysis unit which delivers much needed treatment to the communities.

Funny you should ask – trusty ol’ Dunlop Vollies. Volley International have donated a whole bunch of Volleys. These are Ken’s favourite shoes and he will be taking extras with him for the Community Artists to paint along the way.
Thats awesome, good old Dunlops, they are still probably some of the most durable shoes you can get.
Pity they dont seem to be made in Australia any more, but we can forgive them for that.
