Win ABSOLUT tshirts with ABSOLUT machines

ABSOLUT are at it again this time creating two interactive music making machines…….known as ABSOLUT MACHINES……..naturally!

absolutDan Paluska and Jeff Lieberman, along with Teenage Engineering, were both given the same brief - use the ABSOLUT brand as inspiration to create the ABSOLUT MACHINES by asking the question; what would it feel like if machines had the power of creativity? Their particular answer became known as ‘Quartet’ and ‘The Choir’. Quartet (located in New York City) is an automated multi-instrumental music making machine, as eye catching as it is technologically advanced. It consists of a marimba played by flying rubber balls, wine glasses played by robotic fingers, and robotic percussive instruments. The Choir (located in Stockholm) is a multi-channel robotic choir made up of 10 singing dolls of varying sizes and shapes. Speech synthesizers give each of the dolls their own individual personality. People from around the world are able to interact with the MACHINES via www.absolutmachines.com. Musical input from online users is processed by the machines, which respond with a unique musical composition - co-created by man and machine. The machines immediately perform the songs, and their performances are live-streamed to a global audience.
