Sarah Murdoch Untouched on Womans Weekly

Shock Horror, Sarah Murdoch on the cover of this month’s Women’s Weekly and.. wait for it…. SHE IS NOT AIRBRUSHED!!!!!!!!!!!!!

What’s worse, is she looks fantastic, not that she has looked anything less than stunning, but I think this is a great step for magazines in this country, and it will be interesting to see how long it lasts, lets hope this is the start of something positive.

What’s strange though, is I was flicking channels this morning, and came to Channel 9’s Today Show where Sarah was a host for a short period, so they were giving her big raps, I was also wondering who owns 9 and who owns Woman’s Weekly, but that’s besides the point, not more than 20 mins later, they were interviewing the trainer to the stars, who helps Hollywood celebs maintain their anorexic look, and then around the same period they had their Hollywood gossip section.

What is also interesting is one of the vocal few promoting change used to edit a girls magazine which one would assume airbrushed its photos for years.

  • Sara Jay says:

David, I for one think this is a fantastic initiative by womans weekly, support real women, not fake airbushed corpses!

  • Mark Ronzkol says:

David, Didnt you work for an advertising agency that was very well regarded in the skill of airbrushing?

  • miss pigelle says:

stop picking on Mia! :) http://mamamia.com.au/weblog/2009/08/are-cotton-on-on-crack.html

This is a fantastic step forward for the industry here in Australia and plastic surgeons everywhere must be smiling.

Not all of us show up in pictures as smooth faced and well maintained as you, Mr Goldberg.

  • Amelia says:

oh miss pigelle, how true, now they will all go get plastic surgery instead.

  • miss pigelle says:

sadly, yes, Amelia. while her crows feet are endearing, her forehead looks distinctly frozen… and you don’t need airbrushing to guess she’s been ‘toxed.
