As a preface to this article , one can read below

Leichhardt NSW – a new link with Hebron
At its April 2007 meeting Leichhardt Council voted unanimously to form a Sister City/ Friendship Agreement with El Khalil (Hebron) in Palestine. Councillors are to be congratulated for the compassion and solidarity with one of the most beleaguered cities in Occupied Palestine. The Council voted to investigate the establishment of a friendship or sister city relationship with the City of Hebron in Palestine along similar lines as that with Maliana in Timor Leste and report back to Council on the possibilities. Well this is a bit of a giggle isnt it…. We have people like Jeff Koons having exhibitions of him and former wife having anal sex, but they put an exhibition of “the plight of many Palestinian refugees in Hebron” and the Police counter-terrorism operations come and close it down.
I can see the parallels’ quite clearly actually, I mean a little exhibition in a library definitely will incite violence and cause terrorists to sprout up declaring hatred of anything in their path. But we all know that isn’t the real issue here and why it was actually closed down.

I remember when the Federal Police shut down an photo exhibition of victims of torture in East Timor in 1999 when Australia was complicit in the genocide.
Well same with Palestine. And Gaza is a concentration camp blockaded by Israel.
