Five handmade necklaces made from recycled materials, will be auctioned off this December for the Vinnies Christmas Appeal.
College of Fine Arts design student Sophia Davison has created an eco-friendly necklace range which encourages fashionistas to ‘Think Outside the Jewellery Box’ and see the beauty in preloved jewellery and highlight the importance of recycling. The range is made from handmade pieces and 95% preloved items, including materials from Vinnies such as broken chains, brooches, jewels, beads and even ornamental plates.
The eco-friendly range will be auctioned on eBay to help raise money for the Vinnies Christmas Appeal between Friday 9 December and Monday, 19 December 2011. To get a close-up look at these beautiful pieces visit the Vinnies Paddington store (292 Oxford St) from 2 December.
Sophia shared her hopes for the range, “Each item has become recycled for life and I hope the new necklaces will become valuable and sentimental and will find a home in someone’s jewellery box for many years to come.”
