Smoke & Mirrors is a journey of enigmatic illusion that tests the logic of the mind and challenges perceptions of reality. The very meaning of Smoke & Mirrors alludes to artful deception; tricks that are translated into the functionality of each piece and concealed with a mysterious charm.

An extension of turn me on design’s former range, Oh Fiddlesticks, Smoke & Mirrors was created from a jewellery fiddling addiction. The latest collection provides purpose to the ”˜fiddled’ action, in the form of horseshoes, keys and cubed pieces.

Each design is a relic of the past, with a nostalgic reference to ancient puzzles and games. The functionality of the pieces is offset by the magic and enigma behind the ancient motifs, giving practicality and logic a romantic twist. i.e. The ”˜Key’ necklace, is modelled on two interlinked antique keys; and the wearer’s aim is to separate each piece, ”˜unlocking’ the necklace, using a designed groove system.

Smoke & Mirrors draws on geometric form and resolution, while merging the boundaries of object and fashion design. Jewellery is no longer a static form, but a multifunctional enigma, one that tests and celebrates the mind’s logic; communicating rationality and reason.
