Design Federation went a-walking on Saturday, through the gentrified fields of The Hawkesbury for our second photoshoot for The Federation Annual and it all went swimmingly. A little too much so for moi, who ended up in the drink after scaling across a mossy rock ledge with all the confidence of a Leyland Brother and all the skill of a cross-eyed emu.
But, luckily, the rest of the crew knew how to act like ladies, and in the crisp, cool air under the (surprisingly) unclouded blue weather, three sisters went picnicking at the foothills of the Blue Mountains. Beautiful creatures, captured enthusiastically by photographer Hannah Periasamy from Hannah Jayne Photography, they were never seen again. Disappearing into the haunting mists and long, frost-bleached grasses of Kurrajong; visions in white.
Perfectly played by the stunning, budding actress Amie Bransgrove and gorgeous sisters Samantha and Jackie Mahoney. They captured the other-timeliness of the shoot, added to by the styling prowess of Miss Monique Arnold along with the professional hair and make-up team of Kara Ward and Samantha Timmis
Our designer Friends of the Federation Sophie Loader (Sophia Lodere) and Amy Oram (Teeki) rose to the call for beautiful dresses and German-based emerging designer, Milli Nobis (Meis Nobis) , also delivered a crocheted creation of pluming sleeve loveliness.
The stunning Kurrajong location in the The Hawkesbury NSW was available to us through the kind hospitality of the Thorpe family. Dean was a chivalrous help to the crew throughout the day, taxi-ing the ladies around his picturesque property and kindly attending to our needs. The gods smiled on us to, turning up the screen resolution on the world and keeping the rains at bay, for a perfectly magical day to take a walk in the fields.
Photoshoot 3 is coming up soon, with things getting beastly in Melbourne’s trendy Art Series Hotel, The Cullen, watch out for vampires and nightmares in couture.
