Valerie Syposz: Pleasures, 2012, lithograph
Hamburgers, icecreams and ramen are just a taste of the many edibles that creep into the artworks of Canadian artist, Valerie Syposz. Since relocating to Japan, her work has been exploring food and its relation to our individual and cultural identities. By immersing herself in food culture, Valerie takes inspiration from meals she has eaten or seen in the media and creates detailed prints that reflect on the current society in which she finds herself entangled.
Stuffed, at PLATFORM, is Valerie’s first exhibition in Australia and it will leave you feeling…stuffed!
