We’ve just launched Responsive Projects, a new design lecture series in Brisbane. Valuing participation and collaboration from audience and speakers alike, Responsive Projects brings leading designers to Brisbane and invites them to respond to a theme, provoking critical discussion on contemporary issues. Our aim is to contribute to the global design community with progressive thinking and inspiring visual communication.

Our first event, to be held at The Edge on Thursday 1 November, invites Jonathan Barnbrook to discuss the concept of ‘Citizen’ and its relationship to design. The lecture will address how we can balance our personal values and our responsibilities as citizens within the commercial context of design.

Following the lecture, there will be a question and answer session, facilitated by Kevin Finn of Open Manifesto. We invite everyone (attending or otherwise) to submit questions related to the theme through our website. We will be posting discussion points and answers on both our website and Twitter, and a selection of the most insightful questions will be explored at the lecture.
