Patience. This is a means and not the end

Following on from the success of ‘Sensory Bodies’ at Kudos Gallery in 2007 as well as numerous showings nationally, Kate Scardifield is branching out in her first solo project. ‘Patience. This is a means and not the end.’ is an exhibition of new work developed by the artist during a studio residency at Firstdraft Gallery.

Scardifield sets out to direct a silhouette play along the 14-metre gallery wall. Theatrically abundant and richly textured, the silhouettes are meticulously pinned down to cast ghostly shadows. A visually poetic demise is set to take place…
